Holiday Launches

It is only September and yet, the holiday season is already upon us thanks to unscrupulous vendors at Costco ( I saw that display in JULY) and Walmart, and now good old Sephora has jumped on the bandwagon by allowing an early sneak peek at the most initial offerings of the year.  If you love Christmas, this will be perfect for you.  If you are like me and you don’t think about it until November; this will seem out of place.  Let’s go through the current offerings and see if they are worth any of the hype.

Product: Too Faced Christmas Cookie House Party Collectiontoofaced2019

What it is: A limited-edition collection of a variety of products.  Eyeshadow, mascara, blush, eye shadow primer, liquid lipstick.

Price: CAD 75.00

Availability: Sephora and Online

Love/Pass: Pass

Why: Every year Too Faced puts out a limited edition collection.  This is great if you don’t have a lot of makeup or are a collector of these items.  Every year, complaints roll in from far and wide in regards to the subpar quality of the offerings in the bundle. Colors offered are nothing revolutionary and unless you are an addict of the brand I don’t see anything here worth wrapping up.

Product: Too Faced Gingerbread Extra Spicy Palettetoofaced2

What it is: Eyeshadow palette

Price: CAD 65.00

Availability: Sephora and Online

Love/Pass: Pass

Why: These shadows are nothing new.  Eighteen shades,  of nothing unique or special, with a pop of green for texture.  For the amount of money that would be spent on this offering, you would be better off spending the extra $10 and ordering the full Cookie House Collection. Which would offer 24 shades and a bunch of other products?

Product: Drunk Elephant Shelf- Control Day Kitshelf1.jpg

What it is: A variety of Drunk Elephant mini sizes and a full-sized C-Firma Day Serum

Price: CAD 115

Availability: Sephora

Love/Pass: LOVE

Why: C-Firma Day Serum is offered for sale at Sephora for CAD 105.00 this gives you four mini sizes to try out for virtually $10.  This is an excellent introduction to the brand; it is also a great way to restock.

Product: Drunk Elephant Shelf Control Night Kitshelf2.jpg

What it is: A nighttime version of the Drunk Elephant day kit. Featuring a full-sized Glycolic Night Serum and four mini sizes to try.

Price: CAD 128

Availability: Sephora

Love/Pass: LOVE

Why: For the same reasons, I love the day kit.  The opportunity to try a bunch of additional products for only a few dollars.  Perfect for someone new to the brand or looking to restock.

Product: Clinique Almost Lipstick Mini Duoclinique7

What it is: Two lipstick mini’s

Price: CAD 13.00

Availability: Sephora and online

Love/Pass: Love

Why: Good products from a reliable brand.  This would make a perfect stocking stuffer.

Product: Beauty Blender The Crown Jewels Blender Essentialsbbcj.jpg

What it is:  Four Beauty Sponges and Four cleaning bars

Price: CAD 86.00

Availability: Sephora

Love/Pass: PASS

Why: Sorry, Beauty Blender fans.  This is ridiculous, there are many beauty sponges on the market that offer way better value than what this is.  This is purely a waste of money, in my opinion.
