This was a product that I purchased during the Sephora sale.   To be honest, I wouldn’t have bought it at full price.  Full price being $105 for 1oz/30ml of product.  Not because it isn’t good, I just balk at such an expensive item.  The packaging is unique and super cute.  The top is a twist up, which I really liked because I hadn’t seen packaging like that before. This product is listed as ‘clean’ meaning that it doesn’t contain: Dyes, Fragrances, SLS, Parabens, silicones, Mineral Oil, Triclosan, Oxybenzone, Drying alcohols or Tars.  This product is also said to be a direct dupe of Skinceuticals C, E, and Ferulic serum, in fact, it is so close in ingredients that a lawsuit was started against Drunk Elephant to stop the production of C-Firma.  This made it even more attractive to purchase it.  The SkinCeuticals serum is widely regarded as the best of the best on the market. (Why would you spend more for the same thing, and seriously WAY better packaging on the Drunk Elephant version.)

The product itself is quite a sticky amber colored liquid, with a smell that I can not place or relate to.  It is not unpleasant, just very different. The serum works best when blotted on the skin and then rubbed in.  Once dried down, the skin surface will be slightly tacky to the touch, and this provides an ideal base for makeup.  The serum doesn’t move around on the skin, so don’t worry about the heat.  It stays put unlike most of my mascaras.

I have only been using the product daily for six weeks.  I don’t yet notice considerable changes in my skin.  So, I will have to update you at the 3-month mark and see if anything has happened then.  At this point, I am going to hold off on recommending or not recommending it.  I can’t even say get a sample from Sephora because it isn’t something that works overnight.  I will insist that you will need to use this in conjunction with an excellent sunscreen.

What it is:
A super-potent vitamin C day serum packed with a powerful antioxidant complex, essential nutrients, fruit enzymes, and a chronopeptide that mimics the antioxidant benefits of vitamin D, all working together to firm and brighten the appearance of skin, while improving the signs of photoaging.

Solutions for:
– Uneven skin tone
– Loss of firmness and elasticity
– Dullness and uneven texture

If you want to know more…
This revolutionary serum is jam-packed with a potent antioxidant complex of 15 percent l-ascorbic acid, one-half percent ferulic acid, and one percent vitamin E, and other formula-supportive enzymes that help neutralize pollution, environmental stressors, and the damaging effects of free radicals over time. This formula helps to replenish lipids and visibly reduce the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles after applying regularly. Uniquely formulated with pumpkin ferment extract and pomegranate enzyme, C-Firma™ enzymatically dissolves dead surface skin cells. Sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer quickly sinks into skin and provides ultimate hydration. The result is a noticeably diminished appearance of photo damage, replaced by incredible radiance and luminosity.

What else you need to know:
C-Firma™ has a reservoir effect, which means it will stay active on skin for up to 72 hours and cannot be washed or rubbed off. Its pH level is 3.3, which Drunk Elephant believes is the key to a non-irritating, effective formulation that delivers real results. This product is 100 percent free of essential oils and fragrance.

Drunk Elephant is committed to using only ingredients that either directly benefit the skin’s health or support the integrity and effectiveness of their formulations. They never take into account an ingredient’s synthetic or natural status, but instead choose based on its biocompatibility. You won’t find what Drunk Elephant calls the “Suspicious 6” in their products (essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical screens, fragrance/dyes, and SLS,) making them, in their opinion, appropriate for all skin. They believe that these six ubiquitous ingredients are at the root of almost every skin issue we see. When formulating the products, they focus on pH levels and safety, always making sure that the active ingredients are at efficacious levels. This is the Drunk Elephant difference.

Drunk Elephant is a supporter of IEF (International Elephant Foundation) and is cruelty-free.
