Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Primer

If you tune in regularly, you will have already read my review on the Banana Bright Eye Cream.  If you haven’t (why not???), then allow me to quickly recap.  The Banana Bright Eye cream was excellent for brightening the eye area utilizing banana colored pigment.  It was, however, questionable in the level of effectiveness that is provided in terms of skin care.   Now we turn our attention to the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Primer.  This stuff is without a doubt the must-have primer of the year.  That’s right, must have. banana2.jpg

Retailing for $46 per 1oz/30ml tube of product, I can honestly say without a doubt that this is an excellent deal.  First of all the tube is going to last you a very long time.  A peasized amount was enough to cover my entire face. This product makes a difference like no other on the market.   First of all, it smells like heaven landed on my face. Such an amazing scent.  If you are sensitive to fragrance than give this one a pass.  Second, this product will single-handedly transform the look of your skin.

This primer is packed with banana pigment.  Banana colored pigment works to illuminate the skin.  It works by covering dark spots and reflecting light.  Basically, it gives you a beautiful glow.  I have been told that some people wear this product on its own for a no makeup-makeup look.  I don’t roll that way.  Never have, never will.

I tested this product out as my exclusive primer for 3 weeks.  I tested it on work days when I was in 70% humidity, and 25-degree heat, I tested it on long days, hot days and chill and relaxing days.  My eye area and cheeks literally glowed.

Around the six-hour mark, I would need to blot my skin because it was starting to get oily, but it didn’t affect the way that my makeup performed.  It did not disturb my Dior Forever Matte Foundation, it worked beautifully with my Gerard Cosmetics Setting Spray, my Hourglass Ambient Blush and any variations I attempted to get it to work with.  To say I was impressed would be an understatement.

If you are like me and you live for a super mattified look, this may not be the product for you.  It is so glowy that your brain will start to think you look oily instead of snatched. This product has fantastic lasting power.  I use a liberal amount of powder to set, and I find it stays just fine.  Allow me to clarify.  I am at that age where the powder is not my friend, but I work in an environment where it is really needed to fend off the heat and humidity.

If you are unsure, take a trip down to your local Sephora and request a sample of it.  I am sure you will have the same great results that I did.
