Retailing for $19, this lip balm is available in five shades and is part of a famous line of Kush products from Milk Makeup. The packaging is huge. This is not a discreet little lippie that fits into your pocket. It is almost as large as my mascara and its got a weighty feel to it. So, the packaging is luxe, perhaps not travel-friendly, but it is very stylish. The company logo is embossed on the side of the packaging.
I selected the clear balm in Green Dragon. It appears green in the tube and applies clear. The other shades are Plushberry, Nug, Cannatonic, and Bubble. They each glide on with a hint of color and a weighty feel; each one is chocked full of great for you ingredients ranging from Sativa Seed Oil to Moringa butter and more notable is what is not in them. No SLS’s or SLES, no parabens, triclosan or phthalates.
The smell of the lip balm is minty, and it glides on with a heavy feel that is not waxy in the least. The peppermint oil provides a stinging sensation that both soothes and plumps. Lasting power is standard as with all lip balms. The time diminishes based on how often you eat and drink. The directions say to apply throughout the day for hydration and that it can be used under makeup as a base. I tried it under liquid lipstick and regular lipstick. I found that my application over the top was patchy and didn’t last as long. On its own, this is a wonderful lip balm.
Is it worth $19? I would have to answer yes and no. Yes, it is lovely to support a Vegan and Cruelty-free company that provides such a high-quality product without a bunch of bad things in it. On the other hand, I didn’t notice a considerable change in the quality of my dry, chapped lips. I think if you have mildly dry lips then this may be the perfect lip balm for you. For me it is ok. It is getting constant use, and I think it will perform better for me once the cold of winter is over.
