Retailing at Walmart for $7, Garnier presents this Moroccan style oil treatment designed to help frizzy, dry, destroyed hair like mine. I picked up this 111ml bottle in the hopes that it would be a cost-effective dupe for my beloved Moroccan Oil treatment. My hair is dry, brittle, broken and in many ways; hopeless. Thank you, stylist, of my nightmares.
This oil comes in a plastic squeezy bottle. The scent is pleasant and fruity, although I admittedly would be very hard pressed to be able to actually identify what it exactly smells like. The oil itself is a deep golden color, and a little dab will do you. Designed to be used in three different ways: As an add-in used in conjunction with conditioner to provide deep conditioning, as a leave-in conditioner on towel dried hair and as a frizz tamer on already dried tresses. This product is exceedingly versatile.
Used in the shower as a conditioner: I found it to be a bit heavy on my hair. It was also strong enough to make me break out where I got it on my skin. It worked well as long as I was super careful to not get too close to my roots or I had difficulties with limp hair.
Used as a leave-in conditioner: Amazing results. I loved this method, and it is the one I use most often. My hair is full and lively while showing no frizz and it didn’t feel like straw.
Used on dry hair to tame frizz: This application made my hair go limp. The product did absorb well. However, it wasn’t quite light enough to work effectively with my hair type.
I love how this works on my hair, I love how it is similar to my Moroccan oil and yet entirely different and very affordable. I do find Moroccan oil to be lighter in texture, but the result is the same. Buy it, if you have a chance. It is well worth the price and totally worth the money.
