Iconic Dior. If you have been following the site, you will know that I am madly in love with Dior. Thanks in no small part to the eyeshadow gift Dave Lackie – Beauty Departure Magazine sent me. When I found this cream at Sephora, I had to have it. 1oz/30ml retails at Sephora for $140CAD. That works out to $4.66 per ml of product.
This product is described as a cross between a skin cream and a primer. It is designed to smooth out the imperfections, and reflect light-which makes it perfect as a primer while tightening pores as a skin cream might. The packaging is lovely, although I have to admit that it didn’t blow my mind.
The cream itself is a beautiful pink, light weight with a slightly reflective quality. It melts into the skin quickly, with no heavy feel or greasiness. The effect is very natural, lit from within. As a primer, it took a few layers to even out the skin and control redness. Which is better than a heavy primer that weighs down the skin and leaves it feeling heavy.
The part that I couldn’t handle was the scent. I found it to be overwhelming and headache inducing. Even worse, it doesn’t fade away until you wash it off. Which made it unusable for me.
As described on the Sephora website:
What it is:
An iconic, instant skin perfector, now in a new, advanced formula with greater instant correction benefits and boosted radiance and blurring effects.
– Fine lines and wrinkles
– Dullness and uneven texture
If you want to know more…
Great to use underneath your foundation to enhance your glow, alone on bare skin, and applied to the face and neck as the last step of your skin care routine, Dreamskin features breakthrough technology that works harder than ever to blur imperfections, reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles, visibly tighten pores, and increase radiance. Soft-focus enlightening optical powders create an overall unified effect, while biomimetic powders expertly diffuse light for a fresh and radiant, matte glow effect. The skin’s texture is refined, spots and redness are minimized, and pores appear tightened for skin that looks firmer, smoother, and more even. Two natural ingredients are at the heart of the formula: opilia with its skin-perfecting properties and longoza, renowned for its extraordinary age-defying effectiveness.

As much as I love Dior and all things Dior, I don’t love this cream. This cream does an amazing job of filling in and smoothing out my skin, diffusing and reflecting light in a way that does give me a radiant appearance however, the overwhelming scent made this a hard pass for me.
