ELF Cosmetics Shadow Lock Eye Primer

Needed a primer after my Wet N’ Wild fiasco.  Normally I would go for Urban Decay’s Primer Potion simply because it is the gold standard.  However, I have a real issue with spending $28 for a product that only lasts six months and always seems to turn at EXACTLY six months.  This ELF primer comes in beige or pearlescent white.  I grabbed the beige simply because I don’t want a reflective base.  primer2

This product retails for $3 at Walmart and has a shelf life of 6 months.  It features a doe foot applicator, and it performs just as well as the Urban Decay Primer.  That’s right. Performs on par with the UD Primer.

The product has no smell, spreads wonderfully, dries down quickly, provides opacity, is not heavy on the lids, does not make the lids crepey or flake off.  The applicator wand is a fair size and easy to grip.    It is so good I have actually run out and need to get more.

As described on the Ulta Website:

  • You have a sensitivity to Red 40 Lake

This little primer is pretty impressive.  It comes with a low price point and is a decent dupe for Urban Decay’s Primer Potion.
