Marc Jacobs Dew Drops

This phenomenal highlighter is available at Sephora for $55 for 24ml/0.8oz.  This works out to $2.29 per ml.  The bottle is beautiful and weighty, the liquid inside is magic.  This gel highlighter has a wonderful consistency and will stay exactly where you apply it.  I purchased the color DEW YOU.  It is a lovely satin-gold.

I applied with my fingers and dabbed the product gently into the skin.  I did not find that this worked well with a brush or sponge.  Rubbing motion would cause the product to remove the foundation.   However, this gel stays put.  No transfer.  If any of you have ever looked at your shirt and thought you had become a glitter ball you know what I am talking about.  This doesn’t move.  The color is subtle and yet striking.

This highlighter boasts coconut water, oil, and vitamin B5.  Because I wasn’t mixing this in with my foundation, I didn’t notice any difference in my skin’s nourishment levels.  I did find that I went through this product way too quickly.  A little bit of glow can easily become a glowgasm of too much product.

In terms of being striking, this product definitely is.  I did not, however, like the claims made on the Sephora website that this product is cruelty-free.  It is not cruelty-free as it contains Carmine which is produced from the ground up beetles.  Marc Jacobs brand is sold in China which has mandatory animal testing.

I liked that it was free of Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates yet I have trouble justifying the high cost for such a small quantity of product.
