Vichy Neovadiol Compensating Complex Serum

I purchased this serum at the same time that I purchased the Elixir and Day Cream.  The packaging is nice and heavy.  This serum cost me $65 for 30ml/ 1.01 fd oz. in the bottle.  This serum is a glistening shot of liquid gold.  It actually appears light golden in color and has a distinct shimmer to the product.  This could be because of the miropearls or the mica, either way it is very pretty. The fragrance is the same across the entire product line.  The serum glides on easily and dries down to leave the skin looking illuminated.

The description from the Vichy website:

This advanced replenishing concentrate is a gel emulsion for comfort and freshness through (golden micro-pearls) and AQUAKEEP® technology . It contains the 1st compensating complex [Hyaluronic Acid, Hepes, Pro-Xylane 3%] able to reproduce the global benefits of the youth hormone (DHEA) on the skin. The only textures specifically designed for mature skin in hormonal change, which combine comfort, freshness, and gives instant radiance to the skin. Hypoallergenic fragrances of apple, green tea, iris, jasmine and violet.

A firmer skin, more denser with more defined contours (+ 39% in 4 hours), comfort and immediate freshness.

Vichy’s engagement

  • Tested on sensitive skin under dermatological control.
  • Hypoallergenic
  • With soothing and fortifying Vichy Thermal Spa Water

Although I absolutely loved the way this product applied and looked, it was not without its drawbacks:

  • It would pill up when paired with ANY moisturizer, it did not matter if it was from the Vichy Neovadiol line or not.
  • It would pill up when makeup was applied over top
  • It would pill up if you touched your face for any reason

This product drove me absolutely bonkers.  I didn’t see any change in the look or feel of my skin and I did try consistently for weeks to make this product work.

Final Thoughts:

I tried so hard to like this product.  It just doesn’t work for me.  It didn’t improve my skin, and it failed to work with any other product.  It is truly a kid that doesn’t play well with others.  It looks nice and smells nice.  But, I would recommend saving your money and trying something else.
