Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle Serum

I purchased this serum and the accompanying night cream and eye cream.  The serum was on sale at Wal-Mart and cost me $9.00.  Surprisingly you get quite a lot for your money. The bottle is quite large and heavy.

This is the description from the Neutrogena website:

Our fast-absorbing retinol and multi-vitamin formula is clinically proven to deliver noticeable results. You’ll see a reduced appearance of wrinkles such as crows feet, deep forehead wrinkles, as well as under eye and laugh lines, in just two weeks!

How does it work? The serum’s multi-vitamin complex boosts the skin with anti-oxidants to help neutralize skin-damaging free radicals for healthier looking skin.

  • Dermatologist Tested

  • Allergy tested

  • Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores)

Sounds pretty amazing right?  I was intrigued.  The serum itself has no smell to it.  It is however a bright snot yellow color and has a thick texture.

How to use:

  • Apply once a day to clean skin.

  • Dispense one drop onto fingertips.

  • Smooth over entire face, focusing on wrinkle-prone areas.

  • To maintain formula efficacy, turn pump to “closed” position (left) after every use.

  • If you have sensitive skin, use every other day for 1 to 2 weeks, working up to daily use.

You may experience mild redness, a warm, tingling sensation or flaking (skin exfoliation).

This serum is designed to be used only at night.  It goes on easily and soaks in quickly with no greasiness or sheen.  In my experience, within about an hour my skin starts to feel warm and turns a bit red.  This stuff is mega strong (for my skin) but, works.  It WORKS.  I would strongly recommend slathering yourself in sunscreen during the day while using this product or you will burn in the sun.

I was able to see a real difference in two weeks.  Which is unheard of from a drugstore product.  My skin looked brighter, smoother, my dark spots diminished, my fine lines appeared less prominent.

The downside, is that my skin became very sensitive.  Even when I pared the useage back to three times a week.  My skin took on a very ruddy complexion, which I was able to compensate for.  I think this is an excellent product that needs to be adjusted to individuals usage and needs.   Seriously, how often do you find a product that works like it says it is going to? At that price?

Final Thoughts:

It’s a great product.  Very effective and at an excellent price. As long as you are choosing to wear sunscreen this is a cost-effective way to battle the signs of aging.  I am completely through my first bottle of product and I would totally buy it again.  Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @everydaybeaut11  what works best for you?
