Garnier SkinActive Mattifying Toner

Today we are here to discuss another great product from Garnier.  Today we are taking a look at the Garnier SkinActive Mattifying Toner.  As always I have included a link below so that you can order right from the safety and comfort of your computer.

Garnier -Amazon

The Claims:

This product claims to remove any traces of makeup, pollution and dirt.  It also says it is derived using 96% Natural Ingredients and that it will leave skin purified and mattified.  For combination and oily skin.

How it stacks up:

This is a companion product to the Garnier SkinActive Mattifying Cleanser.  Retailing for less than $10 at Walmart.  This product is notable for the signature smell of Green Tea.  Yummy.  The whole line smells heavenly.  I used this product in conjunction with the cleanser and it holds up to its claims.  Even when used on its own, my skin stayed matte without being overly dry.

This product is not designed for use around the eye area,  and it does have a component called Caprylyl/ Capryl Glucoside which is a non-ionic surfactant made from wheat straw and bran.  So, with that in mind I don’t know that it would be good for anyone with a wheat allergy.  I am not saying that it will cause any problems, I am just saying that this is something to look out for.

As I said in my last review the big wins in this product are in the packaging.  All the ingredients are listed on the back of the bottle with translations into plain English on exactly where the components are derived from.  A big win if you have ever tried to read labels to understand more about what you are putting into your body.   There are no Parabens, Dyes, or Silicones in this product.  Which a huge step in the right direction.

This product is listed as Vegan meaning no animal derived products were used and 96% of the components were naturally derived.  This doesn’t mean that they have not been altered in the production process.  It simply means that they have altered the structure by less than 50% of its original state.   And yes, I will try to look into the processes further to give you more information.

As always, I would like to see Garnier and its parent company L’Oreal push to become cruelty free.  I understand that this is a process and I would like to commend Garnier for all of the work that they are doing to try to advance towards a better environmentally positive product.

This product works.  It does exactly what it says its going to.  It works really well with the companion cleanser, and it is a staple in my travel bag.   I would recommend giving it a try.   Please let me know what you think.  Does this product work for you the way it works for me?   Give me a shout out on Twitter @Everydaybeaut11 and share far and wide.  I would love to know what products you would like to see reviewed.
